Voting scorecard

The votes we score

The voting score covers three areas: Israel & Gaza (military aid, arms sales, the ICC and related resolutions, where AIPAC and allied groups are most active), war powers (whether Congress must authorize U.S. military action in the Middle East) and speech & civil liberties (surveillance, protest speech and nonprofits). AIPAC did not take a public position on every vote here; the score measures a member's record on these issues, not their agreement with any one group. Each vote below says what the scored vote was and why.

How it's calculated: for each area, the share of votes where the member cast the scored vote. The areas count equally, and an area counts only when the member cast at least 2 votes in it. Missed votes aren't counted; "Present" counts as half. Scores based on fewer than 3 votes aren't shown. Vote records come from Voteview and link to the official House Clerk and Senate roll calls. Being backed by PACs and voting a certain way are shown side by side; neither proves the other.

Every member

Scores, side by side with the money

Click a column to sort. The voting score is the equal-weight average of the three areas, not the share of all listed votes; an area counts only when the member cast at least 2 votes in it (areas with 1 vote are shown but greyed out), and a score covering fewer than three areas says which (for example “war powers only”). Members with fewer than 3 scored votes have no score. Higher means more often casting the scored vote: against military aid to Israel without new conditions and against ICC sanctions, for blocking arms sales, for requiring Congress to authorize war, and for civil liberties. Being backed by these PACs and voting a certain way are shown side by side; neither proves the other.
