Run in 2028
Think you could beat them? Start here.
Filing deadlines for 2028 congressional primaries start as early as late 2027 in some states. Pick your state to find the official rules and the people who can help.
1. Find your local DSA chapter
DSA chapters endorse and organize for candidates. Talk to yours early: an endorsement brings volunteers who knock doors and make calls.

Choose your state above to see its official election office and ballot-access requirements: petition signatures, fees and deadlines.
3. Register with the FEC
Once you raise or spend more than $5,000, you have 15 days to register as a federal candidate and name a campaign committee.
4. Get recruited and trained
These groups recruit, train and back progressive candidates. Justice Democrats focuses on congressional primary challengers; Run for Something mostly backs state and local races but is a good place to get trained.
5. Tell us you're running
Declared a 2028 primary challenge? Send us your campaign site and FEC filing and we'll add you to your opponent's page.
Rules change between election cycles. Always confirm deadlines with your state's election office. Primary Democrats isn't affiliated with DSA, any of the groups above, or any campaign.
